Bandwidth requirements for the webinar room

Updated May 8, 2026

Detailed technical requirements for the maximum transmission speed of the internet and network connection. The values provided are maximum values that can be achieved during transmission.

One stream (video & audio transmission) requires 512 kbit/s.
Example: 1 main presenter + 3 co-presenters + 4 active participants = 8x 512 kbit/s = 4096 kbit/s = 4 Mbit/s

Active screensharing can require up to 1024 kbit/s (1 Mbit/s) bandwidth. Only one screensharing session can be used at a time. This data rate must be added to the streams.
Example: 4 Mbit/s (Streams) + 1 Mbit/s (Screensharing) = 5 Mbit/s

In this example, a presenter or participant requires a maximum, stable download rate of 5 Mbit/s. Wi-Fi connections rarely provide this stability. For this reason, we recommend connecting to the router or network with an Ethernet cable.

The streams are transmitted at a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels in 4:3 format. The 4:3 format is more suitable for displaying a speaker than a 16:9 format.

The framerate is 30 frames per second (FPS) for the presenter's stream and 15 frames per second (FPS) for an active participant's stream.

Note: The bandwidth requirement doubles in HD mode for each respective HD stream.
