Attendee View:
The Webinarroom

Updated May 4, 2026

This article gives you an overview of the most important functions that are available to you as a participant in the edudip webinar room.

Use chat

The chat is on the right side of the screen. There, you can write messages and communicate with presenters or other participants during the webinar.

For a better overview, the chat is divided into different tabs:

In the rider “All” See the entire conversation from the event.

In the rider “Public” All messages are displayed that are visible to all participants.

In the rider “Presenters” You can send messages directly to the moderators.

The Rider “Private” only appears when a moderator sends you a private message. Replies to this message are only visible to this moderator.

You can use the arrow at the top left of the chat to collapse the chat. This creates more space for the presentation area.

Note: This setting only affects your own view. This does not change the presentation of other participants.

Teilnehmerliste öffnen

Next to the chat is the list of participants. You open the list of participants via the participant icon at the bottom of the screen.

The small number next to the icon shows how many people are currently in the webinar room. Once opened, you'll see the webinar presenters and participants.

If the moderator has set the participant list as private, it is not visible to participants.

Use full screen mode

With the full screen icon at the top right, you can enlarge the webinar room and display it across the entire screen. You can recognize the symbol by four arrows pointing apart.

To exit full screen mode again, click the icon again.

Unpair chat or video tiles

You can open specific areas of the webinar room in a separate window. This is particularly useful when working with two displays.

About the Unpair icon In the chat window, you can display the chat in a separate window.

The video tiles can also be uncoupled. This allows you to view the videos of the presenters or participants on a second screen while you continue working in the webinar room.

Use reactions

You can select reactions using the hand icon at the bottom center. This allows you to quickly give the moderator feedback without having to write a message in the chat.

For example, they can signal consent, questions, comprehension problems, or a need for help. An absence can also be shown via the coffee mug icon.

When you're back, click “I'm back”. You can change your current reaction at any time or via “Delete response” remove.

Be appointed as an active participant or co-presenter

The presenter can give you additional rights during the webinar.

Become a Co-presenter appointed, this status is displayed under your name in the list of participants. In advance, you will be asked whether you want to activate your camera and/or microphone. As a co-presenter, you have access to the same features as the main presenter.

You can end the moderator status yourself. To do so, click on the 3-point menu and choose “Remove moderator status”.

Become a active participant appointed, you can also use the camera and microphone. Screen sharing is also available. About the icon “Release” At the bottom center, you can request screen sharing from the presenter.

Only the moderator can remove the status as an active participant. However, you can deactivate the camera and microphone yourself at any time using the icons at the bottom of the screen.

Webinar room settings

The settings can be found at the bottom right of the webinar room. There you can make various personal settings.

For example, you can choose whether you want to receive desktop notifications. You can also activate the automatic positioning of the video bar. If this function is switched on, the video tiles are automatically displayed above or next to the presentation area, depending on the content and screen size.

In the settings, you can also see a preview of your camera image. You can mirror your camera image, blur the background, or select a virtual background.

In addition, you can select your desired camera and microphone, adjust the volume and check your microphone activity.

Use a whiteboard

If the presenter shares the whiteboard with participants, you can also use the drawing board.

In this case, the available tools, such as the pointer, drawing tool and screenshot function, appear on the left side of the screen. You can then work with the shared colors, shapes, and features.

As soon as the presenter locks the whiteboard again, participants can no longer edit the drawing board.
